The Embassy of Uzbekistan, Central Asia Program, the Academy of Governance and the Mahalla Foundation of Uzbekistan invite you to attend an off-the-record discussion on mahalla and the status of self-governing bodies in Uzbekistan. Mahallas represent a unique institution that Uzbekistan has institutionalized since its independence. Today, almost 10,000 Mahallas are functioning in the countries and play an important role in shaping the national policy in terms of self-governing bodies and legislation. It is a rare occasion to meet a high level delegation conducted by Abdujabar Abduvakhitov, Rector of the Academy of Governance under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
