AUCC 20th Anniversary
|
Dear AUCC Members and Friends:
Today twenty years ago, a group of 13 US companies established the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC). Throughout our 20 years, we have seen ups and downs in the chamber's membership. However, our determination to strengthen the bilateral business and trade between the US and Uzbekistan has always been our number one goal and the chamber's continued efforts to expand them have earned the reputation of being exceptional, outstanding and unique.
Our members support for the expanded US and Uzbekistan economic relationship has opened opportunities for advancing our bilateral relations. We, as a group, are confident that the economic and security cooperation of the countries will continue to expand with our support and encouragement. This will no doubt lead to many more commercial projects that are mutually beneficial to our nations. As the oldest trade association representing the US commercial interests in the Republic of Uzbekistan, we have accumulated great awareness of what works the best for the US private sector and the companies that we so proudly represent. We will continue to provide unequivocal support for our nations' aspirations to be the markets of economic prosperity, business opportunities and commercial successes. We would like to congratulate all our AUCC members, as well as our friends and supporters, on reaching such a memorable milestone. We look forward to many more years of working together on our common interests and agenda.
Using this opportunity, we would like to encourage you to register for our 2013 US-Uzbekistan Annual Business Forum which is the largest annual gathering of US companies active in Uzbekistan and will officially celebrate the 20th anniversary.
Sincerely,
Carolyn Lamm Tim McGraw

On August 21, U.S. Embassy Tashkent will host a Direct Line to American Business video conference call. The call will explore and develop opportunities for both Uzbek and U.S. businesses in the food processing and packaging industries.
Direct Line provides an open medium for facilitating interactions between U.S. suppliers and Uzbek companies searching for ways to improve their competitiveness and profitability.
The Direct Line call will be hosted by U.S. Ambassador George Krol, with the participation of representatives of Uzbekistan's food processing and packaging industries and members of the AmCham Uzbekistan Trade and Investment Committee.
The Direct Line call will give U.S. industry experts the opportunity to learn the needs of their potential Uzbek clients and become acquainted in advance of travel by a group of Uzbek companies to the PackExpo 2013 exposition in Las Vegas from September 23-25. The Uzbek participants hope to share their needs with vendors of food processing and packaging equipment to better prepare them for their travel to the U.S. and to make arrangements for equipment demonstrations, factory visits, and meetings with representatives of financial and logistics organizations while they are in the U.S. The Uzbek participants have been vetted to include only representatives of companies with a stated interest in purchasing U.S. equipment. Additionally, U.S. manufacturers of food processing and packaging equipment interested in displaying their equipment in a state-of-the-art facility in Tashkent will have an opportunity to inquire about this possibility.
Attendees in the U.S. will be able to join the event as a group through the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) in Washington, DC. Participants will be able to view the live presentation and participate in the call via text-input.
