Case Study: Branding Project Leads to Streamlined Communications, Targeted Messaging for Valparaiso

In 2009 Valparaiso University launched a creative branding initiative in hopes of strengthening its identity. The result has kept Valpo's communication aligned with the university's strategic vision while making sure that its many audiences hear the Valpo story.

Pacific Lutheran Begins Tradition of Teaching in Remote Alaskan Village

Pacific Lutheran University Web Content Manager Chris Albert and PLU Photographer John Froschauer ventured to Alaska to show and tell the story of Lutes who are teaching in remote villages in the state. Of the nine educators teaching in the summer program, eight are Lutes -- Kari Olson '11, Linnea Olson '12, Megan Aarsvold '13, McKenzie Allen '13, Alyssa Johnson '13, Nataly Meyer '13, Suzy Olsen '13 and Kelli Peterson '13

Manhattan College Launches Summer Research Program
With student and faculty research on the rise there, Manhattan College recently established the Jasper Summer Research Scholars program to fund research grants in various disciplines. The pilot program has funded 11 undergraduate grants on topics ranging from improving a modern-day medical brace design for elbow-related injuries to shortcomings in educational funding in the new South Africa.

 

 

HUD Report Offers Widener as Case Study in Civic Engagement
Widener University's civic engagement efforts in the city of Chester have been recognized by publications such as Newsweek and Washington Monthly, but now the federal government is using Widener as a case study on the positive impact colleges and universities can have in stabilizing and improving the nation's struggling communities. 

 


NAC&U Mentioned in Chronicle Article on Collaboration
On July 11, editor Jeff Selingo mentioned NAC&U in "Fly the Friendly Skies of United Universities "posted on chronicle.com. The article discussed the need for colleges and universities to engage in alliance agreements, and Selingo included NAC&U's plan to share online courses within our consortium.
