The Cottages at Seabright
Farm moves toward construction

The Cottages at Seabright Farm received its final plat approval by Whatcom County on August 8, meaning individual lots have been recorded as separate legal parcels. The development now has the ability to close lot sales with owners being then free to obtain building permits and begin construction.

Special meeting on deck for parks district

Due to a lack of quorum at the Point Roberts Parks and Recreation District regular meeting held August 8, a special meeting will be held on Monday, August 15 at 6 p.m. at the Gulf Road community center.

In other district news, board chair Linda Hughes has declared a state of emergency due to a failure of the septic field at the community center. Under a state of emergency, the usual bidding procedures can be foregone with; accordingly, Hughes has hired Joel Lantz to design a new system and to obtain permits from the county.
