Celebrate safely during 4th of July holiday

The Whatcom County Fire Marshal's Office wants to remind all county residents to celebrate safely during the 4th of July holiday. If you are planning on using your own fireworks, use only legal consumer fireworks and only during permitted times.

Point Roberts Independence Day schedule

A full schedule of events is being planned for this year's Independence Day celebrations.

Homegrown co-op to hold open house Saturday

Open to the general public, the Point Roberts Homegrown Coop offers fresh-picked, chemical-free fruits and vegetables for sale. The farm is holding an open house on Saturday, July 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Send us your grads

In the last issue of the All Point Bulletin we celebrated the class of 2016, the latest crop of high school graduates from the Point. Unfortunately we missed Katherine Letherby, who chose to complete high school from home and wasn't on our radar. We are correcting that omission here.

With so many educational pathways opening up for the youth of Point Roberts, we really can't rely on a list of grads from the Blaine school district anymore, and we need help from the community to make sure every student gets the recognition they deserve.

In addition, there is so much more to celebrate as these young people continue to pursue their educations and careers! If you know of a student who is graduating this year, whether from high school, college or continuing education, please send it to editor@allpointbulletin.com so we can help celebrate their accomplishments.
2016 Grad: Katherine Letherby

Katherine has lived in Point Roberts her whole life and started school at the town's primary school.

Correction:

The tide table in the July edition of the All Point Bulletin was mistakenly labeled "June Tides" but they're not! The tide table reflects the correct tides for the month of July. We apologize for the inconvenience.
