Point Roberts Park and Recreation commissioners have officially designated all of Baker Field and associated forested land owned by the district as an off-leash area.

More than 40 people showed up to learn more about the proposed Province Road Gravel project that is currently undergoing conditional use permit review at the county.

A full schedule of events is being planned for this year's Independence Day celebrations.
The day will begin with the third annual Point Roberts Emergency Preparedness group's fundraising pancake breakfast at the community center. During the pancake breakfast the parks department is sponsoring a flag raising ceremony that will include the national anthems of both countries performed by the Point Roberts Winds.
