Goodbye to Caffe Capanna

On February 27 Ron and Linda Hughes had a bittersweet day as friends and customers came by to celebrate and mourn the closing of the popular Gulf Road café.

Stop the Towers celebration this Saturday

The Cross Border Coalition to Stop the Radio Towers will hold a victory celebration at Kiniski's Reef Tavern this Saturday to celebrate their defeat of a proposal to build an AM radio tower farm on the Point and raise funds to pay off the legal bills.

County library kicks off digital services campaign

While the Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) is well-known for offering print books, audiobooks and DVDs, over the last few years they've also added an impressive list of digital services to their offerings.

Cross-Border Coalition to Stop the Towers Party: Saturday, March 5, 6 p.m., Kiniski's Reef Tavern, 1334 Gulf Road. Fundraiser for Stop the Towers legal bills. Live music by The Neon Stars and guests, comedy, silent auction, 50/50 draw, jellybean guessing game and smart TV raffle. 200 raffle tickets for $20 each.
