Community reaches out to local fire victims

Family and friends of Vinny Rotunno and Amy O'Sullivan are expressing gratitude for the rapid outpouring of support the couple has received since they lost their home to fire.

Classes in compost



Amber Kelley, master recycler/composter coordinator with Washington State University Extension, taught members of the Point Roberts Garden Club and other community members about the right way to compost at a February 6 workshop. After the presentation she visited the community garden adjacent to the community center and talked with members about setting up an efficient composting program for the garden.

Parks district to contract out lawn care

The Point Roberts Parks and Recreation District has decided to take weeding and landscape maintenance off its plate and hire someone to do it.

Circle of Care holding Valentine's fundraiser

Point Roberts Circle of Care is celebrating Valentine's Day this Sunday with A Wine and Chocolate Love Affair, a fundraiser to support their in-home care program. The event will feature a wine tasting accompanied by four chocolates as well as a silent auction.

A Wine and Chocolate Love Affair will be held at Brewster's Fine Foods from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 14. Tickets are $25. For reservations or more information contact Annelle Norman at 945-5070.
