Sheriff's office representatives
and PRCAC discuss off-leash dogs

Local sheriff's deputy Tom McCarthy and his supervisor, Sergeant Kevin Moyes, met with a small and mostly resigned group of community members when the hot-button issue of issuing citations to owners of off-leash dogs was on the agenda for the Point Roberts Community Advisory Committee (PRCAC).

Candidates forum focused on county issues

The Point Roberts Registered Voters Association's candidates' forum focused surprisingly on the new jail. The most prominent local issue was whether candidates would support the county picking up the tab for outside legal counsel if proponents of a radio tower farm continue to appeal the county's denial of the project.

Backup at the border

A nationwide computer outage had both travelers at the Point Roberts border and United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers gritting their teeth.
