Open government - how do we stack up?

On July 1, 2014, all public elected officials in Washington state were required by the 2014 Open Government Trainings Act to take basic open government training covering public records, records retention and open public meetings.

The Friends of the Point Roberts Library (FOPRL) and guests from the community got a chance to fly through preliminary designs for a new library in the old Julius fire station.

UPCOMING EVENTS

FOPRL Used Book Sale and Collectible Book Table: Saturday and Sunday, May 16-17, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, noon-3 p.m. Sunday, community center. All sorts of books for sale inside: fiction, non-fiction, children's books, cookbooks, craft books and VHS, DVDs and CDs.


Point Roberts Garden Club Plant Sale: Saturday, May 16, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., community center.
CPR Class: Monday, May 22, 6-10 p.m., fire hall, 2030 Benson Road. Learn adult, child and infant CPR, choking assistance and AED use. The class is free, and the certification card is $5. Info: chief@wcfd5.com.
