Wildlife smuggled through Point Roberts

A Richmond antiques dealer has been smuggling rhinoceros horns into Canada through Point Roberts.

On July 29, Xiao Ju Guan, aka Tony Guan, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Manhattan for conspiring to smuggle wildlife including rhinoceros horns, coral and elephant ivory.

The Letter Carrier to close

Citing rats and leaks in a building they describe as in "horrendous condition," Les and Nancy Lomedico are shutting down The Letter Carrier.

Arts & Music Festival

This year's arts and music festival featured a surge in young creators and entrepreneurs. Above, cousins Sofia Morrison (left), Rachel Comfort, Burke Morrison, Nikki Comfort and Katie Comfort pooled their skills and resources to present Just Cuzz, a collection of friendship bracelets, earrings, lavender gifts, dog treats, and rock art.

Megan Smith added some of her old books and toys to her table, which featured handmade rubber band bracelets and rings.

Miranda Smith sold her unique sock animals and "pocket people."
