County rules limit new pot business locations

 
Stricter regulations passed by Whatcom County Council will prevent many would-be pot growers and processors in unincorporated Whatcom County from setting up shop, but some of those restrictions might only be temporary.
 

International Marketplace rounds up

Results of the "Round Up" campaign at the International Marketplace to raise money for the new library are in and organizers are very pleased. The campaign allowed customers to round up their grocery bill to the nearest dollar with the Marketplace agreeing to match the contributions. 
 

Miniature art raises big bucks

Auntie Pam's Country Store hosted the second annual Miniature Art Night fundraiser for the new library building fund. 80 people attended the March 22 event, bidding on 43 miniature paintings contributed by local artists and students, including the works of favorite artists Sonya Picard, Savilla Kress, Vyna Werner, Judy Ross and Annelle Norman. The Auntie Pam's event raised $1,000 for the new library.
