Character plan committee to meet

 

The first order of business for the newly reconstituted character plan committee will be to examine plans for a proposed community center at The Cottages at Seabright Farm. The group's review will determine whether the building, as designed, conforms to the Point Roberts Character Plan. 
 
The meeting takes place at 7 p.m. today at the Gulf Road community center.
 

Fire district audit turns up clean


The state auditor's office has given the local fire district a clean bill of health following an accountability audit of the district's operation from January 2010 through December 2012.
 

Water district proposes a public hearing

 
Water district commissioners will hold a public hearing to allow residents an opportunity to provide input into a proposed increase in water connection fees. One commissioner has dismissed the idea, saying the proposed increase doesn't go far enough.
 

Girls take fifth place at state tourney

The girls basketball team capped off a season's hard work and brought home a trophy by placing in the top five in 1A statewide at the 2014 Hardwood Classic in Yakima.
 

Whatcom County seeks input on UGA scoping

Whatcom County Council is in the midst of planning for Whatcom County's future development, and it's looking for public input.
