U.S. and Canada set to share traveler information


  

By midsummer, U.S. and Canadian border agencies will be sharing information on all travelers crossing the border, so that entering one country will provide a record of leaving the other.

Parks board looking to fill vacancy


  

The Point Roberts Park and Recreation District is looking to fill a vacancy on its board by the beginning of March. Bev Griffith resigned on January 1, leaving an open position for a Point Roberts citizen.
 
Interested parties are encouraged to contact Mark Robbins, or to attend the board meeting on Monday, February 10 at 7 p.m. in the community center. 
 
The board hopes to appoint the new commissioner at their March 10 meeting. For more information, contact Robbins at mark.robbins@prodigy.net.
General contractors needed

Whatcom County Fire District 5 is looking for licensed, bonded and insured general contractors for kitchen, bathroom and window work. Please submit a letter of interest to fire chief Christopher Carleton by February 28, 2014 at 5 p.m. Further information regarding the work projects and special requirements will be provided to the responding general contractors.
