Election snapshot

Point Roberts seems to like the community center and Democrats.

More than 73 percent of voters who cast a ballot on the Point for the November 5 election supported the parks department borrowing $250,000 for major repairs to the community center.

Wedding Announcement

Thomas and Valerie Mayer of Point Roberts are delighted to announce the marriage of their youngest daughter Tiffany to Steven Bloch of Bothell, Washington.

An absolutely wonderful ceremony was performed on the beach, in traditional Polynesian fashion, at Poipu Beach, Kauai on October 5. The sand, surf, a rainbow and a sunset ...

During the ceremony, a pair of white doves were released in remembrance of Steven and Tiffany's recently departed sisters, Ali Bloch and Sarah Lee Mayer.

The conch shell was blown, and accompaniment by a hula dancer and a ukulele musician made the assembly of family and friends from as far away as Cleveland, Ohio (all garbed in Aloha dress and sandals or bare feet) a very special day.

The newlyweds will reside in Bothell, Washington where Steven is a software engineer and Tiffany is a pharmacy operations specialist for a national health insurance firm.
