Have your say: Radio towers survey

BBC Broadcasting Inc. (not to be confused with the British Broadcasting Corporation) has applied for a Whatcom County conditional use permit that would allow the company to build five 150-foot-tall AM radio towers in Point Roberts. The application was submitted August 1 and kicked off a 15-day public comment period that ends Friday, August 16.

The towers would broadcast KRPI AM Radio, which serves the south Asian market in Whatcom County and the Lower Mainland of B.C. The station currently broadcasts at 50,000 watts during the day and 10,000 watts during the night. The towers would be located at 1563 McKenzie Way, just west of Nielson's Electric on McKenzie Way and Tyee Drive.

What do you think? Are you for, or against, the towers being constructed in Point Roberts? Fill out our short survey.
