Patricia McCairen found this baby barred owl on the ground while on a walk in the woods and called Orphaned Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (O.W.L), to find out what to do. Above, a representative from O.W.L. shows off the little one, who will be cared for at the rehabilitation center and released into the area where McCairen found it.
Anyone who comes across an orphaned bird is urged to call O.W.L. at 604/946-3171 before doing anything else.
