Mischief at the library

In an unusual flurry of unanimity the Point Roberts Community Advisory Committee has agreed to send three recommendations for Point Roberts roads to the Whatcom County executive. For more information, read story.

Support for the new library

The new library fundraising totals jumped this week when Tim McEvoy and Bruce Gustafson, owners of the CanAm Petroleum station in Point Roberts, donated $10,000 to support this community project. Along with this most generous donation came a $100,000 matching gift by an anonymous donor to create a library "Founder's Circle" of $10,000 donors. That made McEvoy and Gustafson the first members of the Founder's Circle and added another $10,000 to their gift.  Both gifts will be formally announced at the Annual General Meeting of the Friends of the Point Roberts Library this Saturday, April 13, 4 p.m., at the community center. Friends will share their plans for the coming year and ask for input from the community. The current donation totals are $130,000.
