Washington State Patrol is still investigating what caused the February 1 accident that left Malcolm Corey, 81, of White Rock B.C., dead. Witnesses have reported that Corey's 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling fast and erratically down Tyee Drive, swerved off the road to the left at the corner of Marina Drive, then swerved into the fence of the Point Roberts Marina boat storage yard. The state patrol report states the vehicle struck four boats and a motorhome, and Corey was deceased at the scene. Eight members of the local fire department responded as well as local law enforcement. The cause of death and the cause of the accident are still under investigation.
