A Happy Thanksgiving from the All Point Bulletin

We want to wish all of our readers and advertisers a fantastic Thanksgiving. We are thankful, this year as ever, for the wonderful community of which we are lucky enough to be a part. We hope you all enjoy a wonderful holiday amongst family and friends.
Fire District recruiting EMTs

Whatcom County Fire District 5 will be conducting community interviews on December 8 for the volunteer position of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). This position will require the successful completion of a State of Washington approved EMT training course and successful NREMT testing. The current course that is being considered, if approved, will allow participants to complete the majority of the training online from home, therefore limiting the amount of travel necessary. Travel may still be required for certain segments of the training and participants must be willing to fulfill such obligations. The projected start date is January 2013 and is a multiple month process. A course syllabus will be sent to those who have been chosen for scheduling purposes. Individuals should be able to demonstrate independent thinking, problem solving, ability to work within a team environment and to succeed at independent studies. A physical agility test, medical evaluation and CPR/First Aid and Infectious Disease training must be successfully completed prior to entering the course.

If interested, please forward your letter of interest along with resume to Fire Chief Christopher Carleton at [email protected]. The deadline is November 30 at 5 p.m.
