Women's Monday Morning Bible Study Series
9 AM Armstrong Room John Tyler will lead a new series for this group of diverse and interesting women who meet each Monday in the Armstrong Room from 9-9:45 AM. The series will be based on John's book, The Eucharist: A History for Life-long and New Episcopalians. Didn't buy the book that sold out its two printings? Steak & Stories 6 PM Great Hall
Our first Steak & Stories of the Fall is right around the corner! We will meet Tuesday, September 20, in the Great Hall from 6-8 pm. Our speaker for the evening will be Charlie Valier, on the topic of George Caleb Bingham's 1846 interpretation of his election paintings. UPCOMING EVENTS Sunday, September 25 St. Michael's Sunday St. Michael's Sunday is September 25. Fried chicken lunch will follow the 9:15 AM liturgy! Bring a friend or neighbor. There will NOT be an 11:15 AM liturgy. Guest Preachers We will have two guest preachers for St. Michael's Day. The Rev. Stephen Platt will preach at the 8:00 AM and 9:15 AM liturgies. The Rev. Stephen Platt is a priest of the Russian Orthodox Church, Rector of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker in Oxford, England, as well as being the General Secretary of the Fellowship of St. Alban and St. Sergius. He studied theology at Pembroke College, University of Oxford with Bishop (now Metropolitan) Kallistos Ware, going on to postgraduate work in the field of religious education at King's College, University of London. Fr. Platt was ordained deacon in 1995 by Metropolitan Anthony Bloom, and served as his deacon for six years, before being ordained priest in 2001 to serve the Orthodox community in Oxford. In 2010 he was elevated to the rank of Archpriest. In addition to his other duties, Fr. Stephen serves as the National Ecumenical Officer and Secretary for Inter-Christian Relations for the Russian Orthodox Church in the UK; and he is the head of the church's Department for Education and Youth Work. He is married to Anna, who works as librarian in the Slavonic Library of the University of Oxford, and they have five children. The Rev. Canon Martin Draper will preach at the 5:30 PM service. Canon Draper is a retired priest living in London. His early ministry was in the Diocese of London, where he served at St. Mary-the-Virgin, Primrose Hill, and St. Matthew's, Westminster. Later, he served in the Diocese of Europe, where he was the Chaplain of St. George's, Paris, for eighteen years, and, until his retirement, Archdeacon of France. Father Draper now helps in a number of central London parishes, most especially St. James's, Paddington, and St. Marylebone Parish Church.

Evensong
5:00 PM Church
The 2016-17 services of Choral Evensong, sung by the Choir of The Church of St. Michael & St. George, begin with a Choral Evensong and Te Deum for Michaelmas on Sunday, October 2 at 5 PM. Please plan to join us for this beautiful, contemplative liturgy to mark the ending of the day within the octave of the feast of our Patron Saint.

The title of the retreat is " Christ from the Perspective of Anglican Women - Meeting Jesus through the lives of six influential women of faith."
Healing Eucharist on Sunday, October 9
5:30 PM St. George's Chapel
On the second Sunday of each month, the 5:30 PM Sunday evening service will include prayers for healing along with Anointing with holy oil. "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." (James 5:14) Come to pray for people in need of healing and wholeness, or come if you yourself would like to receive the Anointing of the Sick.

CHURCH SCHOOL

Church School is off and running. We had a great Sunday kick-off and can't wait until next Sunday!
Just a reminder: there is no Church School classes or services on September 25, St. Michael's Sunday.
Church School Preschool-Kindergarten children should go to their undercroft classrooms, and 1st-5th Grades will meet in the Chapel. All classes end at 10:55 AM.
YOUTH MINISTRY
Sunday, September 18
Youth Ministry SS Classes
A ll YM programming will resume this week. Sunday all SS classes will meet as follows: 
6th/7th grades in Gym; 8th grade Confirmation on 3rd floor in Canterbury Hall; Confirmation Parent's Class in classroom under the stairs; HS Students in Armstrong Room to write letters to CSMSG college students; YM Adult SS Class-The Spiritual Child in the Wydown Meeting Room. All Classes will meet immediately after the 9:15 AM service until 11:10 AM.
Calling All 9th-12th Graders. Please drop by the Armstrong Room on Sunday, September 18, JUST after the 9:15 AM service to jot off a note to a CSMSG college student. Food and fellowship will be available. Stay for as long or as short as your schedule allows.
Confirmation Orientation and Potluck

HS Bible Studies: HS Girl's and Guy's Bible Studies are now meeting on Tuesday mornings for breakfast and Bible study. All HS students in grades 9-12 are invited to join in. E-mail Marty at youth@csmsg.org to set up a ride or for more info.
Tuesdays with Timothy are BACK! All students are invited to come have a coffee (or whatever) on us at the Starbucks at Wydown and Hanley every Tuesday! Join Timothy from 3:30-4:30 PM; friends are WELCOME!
Wacky Wednesdays and Dinner will resume Wednesday, September 21, from 5:15-6 PM in the Armstrong Room. Dinner follows in the Great Hall. All are invited.
