Thank you cheerful Pledgers and Pancake eaters! What a joy-filled Pledge Sunday.
"The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
We received 158 pledges for a total of $846,055 on Pledge Sunday. Thank you for your pledge. It's never too late to pledge. Each and every pledge makes a difference.

Our program will feature parishioner, Larry Marsh, who has been collecting for 60 years and in the numismatic business for 40 years. His topic is "The History of Confederate Money and It's Investment Potential." He will share his expertise and speak about the history of the business and its value today. $20/person. Ladies, begin the day with Holy Eucharist at 7 AM with Mtr. Ezgi Saribay. At 7:30 AM, a light breakfast will be served and the Bible will be studied. We will study the Scripture lessons of the upcoming Sunday for a wholesome overview of the liturgical year over the course of the next few months.

The Reverend Canon John W. Kilgore, M.D.: Waiting, Expectation, and Preparation--Meditations on the Magnificat
Advent Quiet Day will be held with the Reverend Canon John W.Kilgore, M.D. leading the day. With the Advent themes of waiting, expectation, and preparation in mind, meditations on the Magnificat will be offered. This hymn sung by Mary in her encounter with Elizabeth, mother of John the Baptist, when they were both pregnant, is an inspiration for us and has found many musical expressions.

Advent Lessons and Carols
and Advent Reception
The entire parish is invited to an evening of worship, music, and fellowship. Advent Lessons and Carols is a special Evensong service at 5 PM that uses dramatic use of light, anthems, and psalms sung in all parts of the church. Following Evensong at 6 PM, all are invited to the Great Hall for fellowship, spirits, and hors d'oeuvres. Please e-mail Laurie at Laurie@csmsg.org if you are able to bring an appetizer to share. Complimentary child care will be available in the nursery by reservation.
