Stewardship Campaign 2014-15

As of today we have received $1,776,003 in pledges; our goal is $2,000,000. We need your help. Our future is bright with the addition of our two new clergy. They are certain to take our Church to the next level.

You should have received a letter in the mail asking for an additional $600 pledge/gift. What you commit to God's work here will decide if we continue to reach out in the name of Jesus and grow, or if we will be held back and shrink.

May God, through the Holy Spirit, guide you in your decision this week. As always, thank you for your pledge!

If you have not yet made a pledge and wish to do so, you may pick up a pledge card in the pew, Narthex, on the website at www.csmsg.org, or by calling the Church at 314.721.1502.

All of the packing will take place in the Gym in the Church basement.

1. Organization and sorting for the packing will be on Friday, July 10, from 5:30-7:30 PM.

2. The packing itself will be on Saturday, July 11 from 8:30 AM to Noon.

Nicaraguan Mission          Nicaraguan girl
For the last 15 years, The Church of St. Michael & St. George has supported the mission work of Nour Sirker and his Nicaraguan foundation in creating and operating schools and medical clinics in Managua, Nicaragua by raising funds to support the schools and by traveling each year to Managua to provide hands-on help and encouragement.

This year is no exception: Our group will be in Managua for two weeks starting July 19, 2015. Missioners can come for either week or both. Participants report life-changing spiritual experiences.

Why not join us this year? If you are interested, call Carroll Stribling at 314.956.5973 to find out more.

Items Needed for Nicaragua Auction on September 18!

In past years, parishioners have generously donated items such as tickets to the Muny, etc. to the Nicaragua Auction. Since the Auction will be in September this year, summer events are not as easily donated as winter events. Surely, some of you have tickets to the Cardinals (fall games), Blues, Rams, or Billikens games, or tickets to the Rep, the Symphony, CASA, The Bach Society, the FOX, the Sheldon, or other arts or entertainment events that you would be willing to donate to a good cause and for a tax deduction. If so, contact Larry Butterfield, Auction Co-Chair at: lbutter@hotmail.com or 314.570.4684 or WSMM Chairman Carroll Stribling at: carroll.stribling@gmail.com or 314.956.5973.

Shelter Ministry Volunteers Needed

The Shelter Ministry is looking for a handful of additional dedicated volunteers who would be willing to commit to serving at the Shelter breakfast one Sunday a month i.e., either the first, second, third, or fourth Sunday of each month. We need folks who will help with cooking, set-up, and serving breakfast from 6:15 AM to about 8:15 AM. We are also looking for volunteers to establish dishwashing crews for each Sunday from 7:30 AM to about 8:25 AM.

If any among you are willing to say, "Here I am", please contact Nick Clifford at 314.224.5626 or nickclifsr@yahoo.com or Laurie Brown at laurie@csmsg.org.

Can You Help?

CSMSG Girls' Choir Book Drive: The CSMSG Girls' Choir is sponsoring a Book Drive for the children of Gateway 180, a local homeless shelter CSMSG regularly supports. A collection basket has been set up outside the Church Library, under the coat rack, to collect your gently-used children's books. Please contact Bess Lehman with any questions at csmsgbookdrive@gmail.com. Thank you!

Seeds for Growth!

Wonderful stories are unfolding in our Church every day: stories of faith, devotion, and love for our neighbors. Great things truly are happening here.

Please pick up a CSMSG business card(s) from the "planters" located in the Narthex and Great Hall. Plant one of CSMSG's "Seeds for Growth" in the hand of a friend who is looking to be a part of a wonderful story and a church community. We need your support to help us grow!
