Stewardship Campaign 2014-15

This Sunday, the First Sunday after the Epiphany, we remember the Baptism of Jesus by John at the River Jordan, the beginning of Christ's ministry. It is the hope of CSMSG that each of us in our own ministry and stewardship hear the words of God: "You are my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased." Your involvement in ministry and faithful pledging enable CSMSG to worship and serve in Jesus' name. Thank you!
As of Monday we have received 320 pledges for a total of $1,619,312. The goal is $2,000,000.
If you wish to make a pledge, you may pick up a pledge card in the pew, Narthex, on website at www.csmsg.org, or simply call the Church at 314.721.1502.

Annual Meeting

Chili and Soup are needed for the after-party. Please contact Laurie at Laurie@csmsg.org if you are able to bring chili or soup. Note: Due to the Annual Meeting, there will not be an 11:15 AM liturgy. Saturday, February 21 Lenten Quiet Day Dr. Janet Ruffing, RSM, Professor of the Practice of Spirituality and Ministerial Leadership at Yale Divinity School, will lead our Quiet Day on February 21. She will lead us through a reflection on Lent as a journey from Transfiguration to Transformation that will include chanting, visual contemplation of Fra Angelico's painting of the Transfiguration, time for personal prayer, and some faith sharing. We will ultimately look more closely at the transformation that contemplating the Christ mysteries achieves. Dr. Ruffing's work with us promises to be a great way of opening ourselves further to the potential promises of not only Easter, but of the Lenten journey as well. As usual, we will conclude our time together with a simple Eucharist. Quiet Day will be held from 8:30 AM-3 PM. This Quiet Day is for both men and women and will be held at CSMSG.

Shelter Ministry Volunteers Needed
The Shelter Ministry is looking for a handful of additional dedicated volunteers who would be willing to commit to serving at the Shelter breakfast one Sunday a month i.e., either the first, second, third, or fourth Sunday of each month. We need folks who will help with cooking, set-up, and serving breakfast from 6:15 AM to about 8:15 AM. We are also looking for volunteers to establish dishwashing crews for each Sunday. This role would be different from the regular breakfast volunteers in that your services would be needed only from 7:30 AM to about 8:25 AM.
If any among you are willing to say, "Here I am" please contact Nick Clifford at 314.997.4011 or nickclifsr@yahoo.com or Laurie Brown at laurie@csmsg.org for answers to any questions you might have about this service opportunity and, which Sunday of the month you would like to serve if you feel this opportunity suits you.

Help Us Grow
Seeds for Growth!
Wonderful stories are unfolding in our Church every day: Stories of faith, devotion, and love for our neighbors. Great things truly are happening here. But if CSMSG is to continue with great things, if we are to continue to grow, we need your help.
Please pick up a CSMSG business card(s) from the "planters" located in the Narthex and Great Hall. Plant one of CSMSG's "Seeds for Growth" in the hand of a friend who is looking to be a part of a wonderful story and a church community. We need your support to help us grow!
