"Celebrating Our History, Insuring Our Future"
Planned Giving at CSMSG
Planned Giving is a term for the number of ways in which parishioners can insure that their stewardship efforts continue after their death by making a gift to the Endowment Fund. If you care enough about your church to make a faithful annual pledge, contributing to our Endowment Fund should be a natural next step. If you are interested in more information about making a planned gift to CSMSG, please visit our website at www.csmsg.org for more information, or contact the Rector's Office at 314.721.1502.

Monday, June 9 Stupp Scholarship It's time for interested graduating high school seniors from this parish to apply for a Jane Howell Stupp Living Memorial Scholarship for college for the 2014-2015 academic year. This fund was established by Mrs. Stupp's family to provide one-time only college scholarships to worthy recipients. This is a competitive scholarship and not all applicants will receive a scholarship. You need to make a written application for this grant by writing the Rector and including a transcript, a list of all financial support you are receiving, and two letters of reference, one of which must be written by a teacher. This annual festival Evensong and service of rededication is celebrated by the Order of St. John, which is both an active, practical charity and an order of chivalry headed by Queen Elizabeth II. This year's service will include the world premiere of an anthem in which Horst Buchholz, the Director of Music at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, sets to music a poem by the great German poet Friedrich Schiller. The guest speaker will be Palmer Hamilton, the new Prior of the Priory in the United States of the Order of St John. Evensong will begin at 6 PM. Guild Tidings Newsletter
Seeking Writers for CSMSG's "Guild Tidings" Newsletters
CSMSG's "Guild Tidings" are newsletters envisioned to be directed by and for the members of our various Guilds'. The focus of the newsletters will be on sharing information about Guild members as well as sharing specific information needed to better perform the Guilds assigned duties. The articles will be a little longer than what is featured in the parish weekly e-letters and the Sunday service leaflets. In addition, archived copies of the newsletters can be used to tell a Guild's story and help attract new volunteers to that area of service. For more information, contact Denise Chachere at drchachere@sbcglobal.net.

Outreach
Community of Hope

The program is in its 20th year and has centers in parishes around this country and others as well. The training classes include people from other congregations and denominations and include classroom instruction and on-site practice visits.

Nicaragua Needs
Donations for Nicaragua: Cleaning out the kids' toy box? Send your gently-used toys to Nicaragua in a mission volunteer's second suitcase. Items will be used by the children at the schools in Santa Rosa and Nejapa. Mission volunteers are leaving for Nicaragua in July.
Needed items: Educational toys, Legos/Lincoln Logs/Building blocks, Play stations and 'Play house' items (kitchen, workshop, etc.), Large plastic animals, dinosaurs, etc., Large trucks/cars, Tent 'Play House' (Playhut, etc.), Puzzles (ages eight+), Baby dolls, Board Games/Card Games, 'Dress-up' items.
(Please - No stuffed animals)
Help the St. Michael's summer mission trip to Nicaragua with the three T's: travel size toiletries, toothbrushes, and toothpaste.
Do you travel frequently? Don't forget to save those unopened hotel toiletries for the 2014 mission trip to Nicaragua. (Ask your well-traveled friends and your co-workers, too!) Missioners take toiletry bags of soap, shampoo, and lotion to the patients at the women's and children's hospital in Managua. 400 toiletry bags are distributed by the missioners to the patients.
Toothbrushes and toothpaste go to the kids at the schools in Santa Rosa and Nejapa for healthy and bright smiles! (Does your dentist have extras?) All donations can be dropped off at the Nicaragua donation closet located across from the Church Library. Gracias!
Hunger Ministry has a new location for Meal a Month donations and recipes for casseroles. To the left of the Taylor Room are two closets marked Hunger Ministry. Pans, recipes, Meal a Month Yellow Bags, and shelves to place filled Meal a Month Bags are all now located together.
Contact Becky Zaccarello at zaclife@aol.com for further information or check with the Church Reception Desk. Your giving and sharing mean so much to so many!
Shelter Ministry Volunteers Needed
The Shelter Ministry is looking for a handful of additional dedicated volunteers who would be willing to commit to serving at the Shelter breakfast one Sunday a month, i.e. the first, second, third, or fourth Sunday of each month. We need folks who will help with cooking, set-up, and serving breakfast from 6:15 AM to about 8:15 AM. We are also looking for volunteers to form dishwashing crews for each Sunday. This role would be different from the regular breakfast volunteers in that your time commitment is only from 7:30 AM to about 8:25 AM. If any among you are willing to say, "Here I am", please contact Nick Clifford at 314.997.4011 or nickclifsr@yahoo.com or Laurie Brown at laurie@csmsg.org to answer any questions you might have about this arrangement and, of course, which Sunday of the month you would like to serve if this opportunity suits you.

Help Us Grow
Seeds for Growth!
Wonderful stories are unfolding in our Church every day: Stories of faith, devotion, and love for our neighbors. Great things truly are happening here. But if CSMSG is to continue with great things, if we are to continue to grow, we need your help.
Please pick up a CSMSG business card(s) from the "planters" located in the Narthex and Great Hall. Plant one of CSMSG's "Seeds for Growth" in the hand of a friend who is looking to be a part of a wonderful story and a church community. We need your support to help us grow!
