Stewardship Campaign 2014

331 households have made a pledge for 2014 for a total of $1,609,907.

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

           Matthew 6:21

The Bible talks a great deal about gratitude and generosity. The Psalms are filled with calls for thanksgivings. Thanksgiving is the outward sign of gratitude expressed in worship and prayer. We acknowledge what God has already done in our lives and we are prompted to be generous. Worship begins with gratitude, prayer begins with gratitude, giving begins with gratitude.

Please contact the Church if you need a pledge card at [email protected].

Thank you for your pledge!

Planned Giving at CSMSG

Planned Giving is a term for the number of ways in which parishioners can insure that their stewardship efforts continue after their death by making a gift to the Endowment Fund. If you care enough about your church to make a faithful annual pledge, contributing to our Endowment Fund should be a natural next step. If you are interested in more information about making a planned gift to CSMSG, please visit our website at www.csmsg.org for more information, or contact the Rector's Office at 314.721.1502.

Lay chaplains are taught a ministry of presence to bring comfort and hope to the suffering. In addition to clergy visitations, COH chaplains handle a significant number of in-home visits.

Bible Class meets at 11 AM, lunch ($7) at Noon, with our program to follow. Questions? Reservations? Call Jane Cox at 636.394.3441.

April 5

Women's Retreat

Join us for a special one-day Women's Lenten Retreat with The Rt. Rev. Geralyn Wolf on Saturday, April 5 from 9 AM-3 PM at Church. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 AM.

Download the retreat brochure

A $45 fee includes the costs for the retreat, breakfast, and lunch. Childcare is available, reservations are necessary.

Bishop Wolf has served the Episcopal Church in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Rhode Island. She has faced the challenges of forgiving and accepting forgiveness. "Forgiveness and love are allies in the Christian life, not merely as emotional realities, but as a journey of the will. When Jesus forgave the thief who was crucified with him, he was embracing each of us with a love beyond our fears."

This is a wonderful opportunity to see what the CSMSG Women's Retreat is all about. Six hours with women of the parish -- growing our spiritual faith together.

For more information, contact Laurie at [email protected] or 314.721.1502.

Outreach

Shelter Ministry Volunteers Needed

The Shelter Ministry is looking for a handful of additional dedicated volunteers who would be willing to commit to serving at the Shelter breakfast one Sunday a month, i.e. the first, second, third, or fourth Sunday of each month. We need folks who will help with cooking, set-up, and serving breakfast from 6:15 AM to about 8:15 AM. We are also looking for volunteers to establish dishwashing crews for each Sunday. This role would be different from the regular breakfast volunteers in that your services would be needed only from 7:30 AM to about 8:25 AM. If any among you are willing to say, "Here I am", please contact Nick Clifford at 314.997.4011 or [email protected] or Laurie Brown at [email protected] to answer any questions you might have about this arrangement and, of course, which Sunday of the month you would like to serve if this opportunity suits you.

Please pick up a CSMSG business card(s) from the "planters" located in the Narthex and Great Hall. Plant one of CSMSG's "Seeds for Growth" in the hand of a friend who is looking to be a part of a wonderful story and a church community. We need your support to help us grow!
