Annual Meeting

Thank you Annual Meeting Lunch Contributors!

Your delicious chili, pies, cookies, and brownies made the Annual Meeting a success!

Congratulations to Adie Dietz and Kay Harper for being crowned Chili Champ and Pie Princess. Adie's chili had a kick to it that made you come back for more! Kay baked not one, but four pies that were all different and yummy.

What a wonderful place CSMSG is. You send out a request for chili and pies and end up with a lunch buffet filled with many different varieties. Thank you for making CSMSG that kind of place!

Stewardship Campaign 2014

327 households have made a pledge for 2014, for a total of $1,603,677.

The Annual Meeting last Sunday was a great look into of all that your pledge money is supporting. Our clergy, choir, Church School, building, are all thriving with your support. Thanks to your pledge dollars, our Youth Ministry has even produced a "Church Lady!"

Please contact the Church if you need a pledge card at [email protected].

Thank you for your pledge.

"Celebrating Our History, Insuring Our Future"

Planned Giving at CSMSG

Planned Giving is a term for the number of ways in which parishioners can insure that their stewardship efforts continue after their death by making a gift to the Endowment Fund. If you care enough about your church to make a faithful annual pledge, contributing to our Endowment Fund should be a natural next step. If you are interested in more information about making a planned gift to CSMSG, please visit our website at www.csmsg.org for more information, or contact the Rector's Office at 314.721.1502.

Tuesdays

Church Service League/Susan Mount Guild

11 AM      Great Hall

What a great time we had with The Rev. Kit McLean as our guest speaker last Tuesday. She is a fabulous speaker and as she shared the story of her road to priesthood, you could see the audience trying to anticipate what possibly could have been next in this tale. CSMSG is truly blessed to have Mthr. Kit join us. She has only been with us since September, but it feels like we have known her forever.

Next week, Aleda Littlefield will talk about the Crystal Bridges Museum of Modern Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. Yes, it was started by a Walton family member of Walmart fame!

As usual, Bible Study starts at 11 AM, lunch ($7) at Noon, with our talk at 12:30 PM. Everyone is welcome. Questions? Call Jane Cox at 636.394.3441.

Bishop Wolf has served the Episcopal Church in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, and Rhode Island. She has faced the challenges of forgiving and accepting forgiveness. When Jesus forgave the thief who was crucified with him, he was embracing each of us with a love beyond our fears."

This is a wonderful opportunity to see what the CSMSG Women's Retreat is all about. Six hours with women of the parish growing our spiritual faith together.

Outreach

Shelter Ministry Volunteers Needed

The Shelter Ministry is looking for a handful of additional dedicated volunteers who would be willing to commit to serving at the Shelter breakfast one Sunday a month, i.e. the first, second, third, or fourth Sunday of each month. We need folks who will help with cooking, set-up, and serving breakfast from 6:15 AM to about 8:15 AM. We are also looking for volunteers to establish dishwashing crews for each Sunday. This role would be different from the regular breakfast volunteers in that your services would be needed only from 7:30 AM to about 8:25 AM. If any among you are willing to say, "Here I am", please contact Nick Clifford at 314.997.4011 or [email protected] or Laurie Brown at [email protected] to answer any questions you might have about this arrangement and, of course, which Sunday of the month you would like to serve if this opportunity suits you.

Help Us Grow

Seeds for Growth!
planter

Wonderful stories are unfolding in our Church every day: Stories of faith, devotion, and love for our neighbors. Great things truly are happening here. But if CSMSG is to continue with great things, if we are to continue to grow, we need your help.

Please pick up a CSMSG business card(s) from the "planters" located in the Narthex and Great Hall. Plant one of CSMSG's "Seeds for Growth" in the hand of a friend who is looking to be a part of a wonderful story and a church community. We need your support to help us grow!
