Planned Giving at CSMSG

Planned Giving is a term for the number of ways in which parishioners can insure that their stewardship efforts continue after their death by making a gift to the Endowment Fund. If you care enough about your church to make a faithful annual pledge, contributing to our Endowment Fund should be a natural next step. If you are interested in more information about making a planned gift to CSMSG, please visit our website at www.csmsg.org for more information, or contact the Rector's Office at 314.721.1502.

Children's books and books including African-American characters are especially appreciated. The Church will be collecting book donations throughout the year. Please contact Miranda Martin with any questions at mmartin.9080@gmail.com.

Help Us Grow

Seeds for Growth!
planter

Wonderful stories are unfolding in our Church every day: Stories of faith, devotion, and love for our neighbors. Great things truly are happening here. But if CSMSG is to continue with great things, if we are to continue to grow, we need your help.

Please pick up a CSMSG business card(s) from the "planters" located in the Narthex and Great Hall. Plant one of CSMSG's "Seeds for Growth" in the hand of a friend who is looking to be a part of a wonderful story and a church community. We need your support to help us grow!

Canterbury Bookstore:
The Closing Chapter

After 21 years of fine and faithful service, the Canterbury Bookstore at The Church of St. Michael & St. George will close with this Christmas season. Originally begun by The Rev. Fred Barbee and parishioner Elsie Valier, the Bookstore has served this parish in season and out--most recently under the excellent leadership of Peggy Strelinger.

After managing the Bookstore for fourteen years, Peggy has made the decision to retire. Her retirement, in combination with a weak business environment, and fewer and fewer books being sold overall, seems to suggest that this is the moment for this venerable institution to come to an end.

In all events, we will gain an additional room on the main floor for meetings and classes.

We are looking to build a book guild which will offer special books written by parishioners and by visiting speakers. If you have an interest in being part of this guild, please contact Marlene at marlene@csmsg.org.
Canterbury Bookstore
Canterbury Bookstore offers many items perfect for Christmas gifts.

As the Bookstore concludes its closing season, prices on all items are 80% off. No special orders or imprinting are available. However, as always, free gift wrapping is available. There are also unique supply items--gift boxes, wrapping paper, baskets, containers and display accessories--at bargain prices.

Please stop by and let staff thank you personally for your loyal support of the Canterbury Bookstore during the past 21 years. We have enjoyed bringing you a welcoming atmosphere to investigate Episcopal and Christian resources that improve and assist your spiritual journey. Although we won't be "in" the Bookstore, we each look forward to being a part of this community in the days to come.

The Knitting Ministry

Young girl knitting This past September, the Knitting Ministry celebrated its tenth birthday! The Knitting Ministry knits mantles of comfort (prayer shawls), baby blankets, and chemo caps. In the last ten years, this ministry has knitted and donated 377 prayer shawls, 74 chemo caps, and 98 baby blankets. We meet once a month on Saturday for knitting, conversation, and lunch. We are also offering a five-morning schedule for both classes. Our programs are taught by a degreed teacher and have proven quite successful since their inception. For more information, call Carol at 314.721.1502.
