"Celebrating Our History, Insuring Our Future"

Planned Giving at CSMSG

Planned Giving is a term for the number of ways in which parishioners can insure that their stewardship efforts continue after their death by making a gift to the Endowment Fund. If you care enough about your church to make a faithful annual pledge, contributing to our Endowment Fund should be a natural next step. If you are interested in more information about making a planned gift to CSMSG, please visit our website at www.csmsg.org for more information, or please contact the Rector's Office at 314.721.1502.

Steak & Stories

6 PM    The Great Hall

Steak and Stories is pleased to welcome John Dougherty as our November 12 speaker. His topic will be "The American Chestnut Tree." The American Chestnut Tree was one of the USA's most important timber and wildlife trees in the eastern US forest ecosystem. The chestnut blight, a foreign invasive fungus, arrived in North America with the import of Asian chestnut trees around 1900. Government programs to combat the blight were ineffective and abandoned around 1950, and virtually all (or 4-6 billion) American Chestnut Trees were lost from our eastern forests. Around 1990, The American Chestnut Foundation (TACF) was formed with the mission to use new plant science knowledge and scientific tools to provide blight resistance and restore the American Chestnut Tree to the American forests. Now, encouraging results have appeared and TACF is ready to begin massive replanting efforts. If you wish to attend but have not yet responded, please RSVP to reception@csmsg.org or 314.721.1502 no later than Noon on Monday, November 11.
