Stewardship Campaign 2014

Mark Klamer Mark Klamer shared with us that as he looks back on his relationship with money, "I see a very direct connection between being freed from the iron grip of money, and what has happened to my faith. I think it has been critically important that we have done this by means of giving to the church--surrendering what we have to God. I believe that it is important to give to the Church by means of a pledge, taking that leap of trusting God and not just waiting until the mood strikes us. Over the years, Jane and I have increased our pledge. My hope--my prayer--for each of you is that this year you will be less of a coward than I have been in my life."

Pledge Sunday is this Sunday. You should have received your pledge letters in the mail this week.

Celebrating Our History, Insuring Our Future

Planned Giving at The Church of St. Michael & St. George

Planned Giving is a term for the number of ways in which parishioners can insure that their stewardship efforts continue after their death by making a gift to the Endowment Fund. If you care enough about your church to make a faithful annual pledge, contributing to our Endowment Fund should be a natural next step. If you are interested in more information about making a planned gift to CSMSG, please visit our website at www.csmsg.org for more information, or please contact the Rector's Office at 314.721.1502.

Prayers for Healing and Comfort is a collection of simple and powerful prayers to be used in times when it is difficult to gather our thoughts and feelings and ask for the things we need most. This little book offers guidance in those times. Published by The Church of St. Michael & St. George, this valuable book is available in Canterbury Bookstore.

All Majesty and Power is a selection of the Episcopal Book Club. It is an anthology that contains select "royal prayers" from throughout history. It consists of two parts -- prayer by royalty and prayers for royalty, including scriptures as well as prayers used by Henry VIII, Mary Queen of Scots, Prince Philip, in addition to others. The book collects prayers in various styles beginning with prayers used by the first Christians up to the present day.

The holiday season is quickly approaching. Let Canterbury Bookstore help you prepare. Advent calendars and Christmas cards are now available. New designs and some familiar ones are on display from The Printery, Cards by Anne, Credo, and many others.

Stop by and make your selection today for a head start on the ideas that illustrate the season.
