Stewardship Campaign 2014

Andrea and Ian Hagemann are looking forward to pledging to the Stewardship Campaign on October 27. Andrea said, "That while our lives are busy and hectic, we don't want to just show up for church and give when it is convenient for us. There is a deeper sense of belonging by committing to the Stewardship Campaign. And that by forming the habits of giving, little by little it will develop and grow into a more fulfilling membership." Ian shared that "We have benefited from the givers who have gone before us and that we are now the givers, giving more than I ever thought we would. However, it is an honor to give to provide for the future."
Pledge Sunday is October 27. You will receive your pledge letters in the mail the week of October 21.
Celebrating Our History, Insuring Our Future
Planned Giving at The Church of St. Michael & St. George: Planned Giving is a term for the number of ways in which parishioners can insure that their stewardship efforts continue after their death by making a gift to the Endowment Fund. If you care enough about your church to make a faithful annual pledge, contributing to our Endowment Fund should be a natural next step. If you are interested in more information about making a planned gift to CSMSG, please visit our website at www.csmsg.org for more information, or please contact the Rector's Office at 314.721.1502.

Help Us Grow
Seeds for Growth!
Wonderful stories are unfolding in our Church every day: Stories of faith, devotion, and love for our neighbors. Great things truly are happening here. But if CSMSG is to continue with great things, if we are to continue to grow, we need your help.
Please pick up a CSMSG business card(s) from the "planters" located in the Narthex and Great Hall. Plant one of CSMSG's "Seeds for Growth" in the hand of a friend who is looking to be a part of a wonderful story and a church community. We need your support to help us grow!

Canterbury Bookstore

Are you interested in working in a productive, meaningful ministry a few hours each week? Canterbury Bookstore is looking for volunteers. Retail experience is appreciated but training is provided. Volunteers are needed on Sundays, Monday mornings, and Thursdays. Contact Peggy Strelinger at 314.721.1502 to find out more about this opportunity.
Turn any relationship into an extraordinary relationship. Extraordinary Relationships: A New Way Of Thinking About Human Interactions is an invaluable guide explaining that only by further developing yourself can you further develop your relationships. This "blueprint to better relationships" shows how principles from the family systems theory can be used in all areas of your life.
Blessings and prayers before and after a meal are part of the earliest Christian traditions. Throughout the centuries, Christian communities, Christian families, and individual Christians have kept the lovely custom of reading a short passage from the Bible followed by a short prayer, usually called "grace," before sitting down to their daily meals. Available in the Canterbury Bookstore, A Blessing Of The Table by Brother Victor-Antoine d'Avila-Latourrette is a wonderful resource for expanding this tradition in your home and at your table.
There is something new in Canterbury Bookstore each week. New releases, new vendors, new displays, new ideas...come to the Bookstore to see what new things catch your eye!
Hours
Monday: 10 AM-12 PM
Thursday: 10 AM-3 PM
Friday: 8:30 AM-12 PM
