Did Summer seem short this year? Here we are at Labor Day, the official end of Summer, and it seems like a blink. Maybe it was the basketball playoffs rolling right into the World Cup that kept my attention away from the blistering heat outside. All those sports highlights certainly kept the Dog Days at bay by keeping my attention off the slowness of the season. And here we are again, right back at the beginning of football season. As the college teams snap on their head gear and get ready to lock horns in the first games of the year this weekend, I begin to think about how time perpetually seems to speed up right about now.
Before you know it, we will be halfway through Pro football season and on our way straight into the Thanksgiving and Winter Holiday season. Hard to imagine when you are sweating it out in Florida but really it is coming fast. Maybe it is because we get so busy this time of year? Maybe it is the rhythm of our never ending schedules? Kids to school, work, work, work, dinner, gym, beer, shows, weekends, football, events, brunch, shopping, repeat.
We should slow down though. Enjoy the moment. Get together with friends, crack open a few beers that we have been saving, watch that sunset and soak it all in. Don't let the time slip away so fast....it is these times that make life worth living and Labor Day is that last vestige of Summer to remind yourself of that. In the immortal words of Simon and Garfunkle..."Slow down, you move to fast...you've got to make the moment last."
Take your time and enjoy and have a great holiday weekend.

As we compose the text for this celebratory beer-a golden-brown India pale ale dry-hopped exclusively and abundantly with El Dorado hops-we stand ready to leap from the precipice of all we know into a new era for our company, our beers and, most importantly, our fans. It's one that will see us exploring new territory, both geographically and creatively, as we evolve from pacesetters for the American craft brewing movement to cross-planetary champions of the worldwide cause of craft, hoisting our banner to proclaim artisanal beers' vast superiority over stripped-down, business-driven, industrialized, fizzy, yellow mediocrity. We thank you for shadowing us for the first 18 years of our journey, and welcome you to join us for next leg and all that follows. 8.5% ABV

Founders Dissenter Imperial IPL
It's been a dozen years since we've brewed a lager-and, true to form, we're going big with Dissenter India Pale Lager, our argument in favor of the potential for complex lagers. Brewed with a wide variety of tropical, citrus-forward hops, Our ales are fermented at warm temperatures, but this lager is fermented cold, using a different kind of yeast. The longer brewing process used for lagers gives Dissenter an exceptionally clean finish, allowing you to appreciate the clear beauty of the hops as you would a well thought out, eloquent dissenting opinion. We'll let this one speak for itself. 8.7% ABV

Every State in the USA, Ranked by Its Beer
By: Ben Robinson and Andy Kryza and Matt Lynch
via Thrillist
It's a great time to be drinking beer in America. Not that it was ever, you know, a BAD time to be doing that necessarily, but with craft breweries multiplying like rabbits who've been drinking beer, you can literally find some serviceable (if not downright tasty) local brews in all 50 states. Which made the process of ranking them all the more difficult, but we were up to the challenge, especially since it meant drinking and thinking about beer for weeks straight.
Here they are, all 50 states in the Union, ranked according to their beer. A couple notes about our criteria. Quantity and quality are both important, but quality's a bit MORE important. If you're a small state turning out a disproportionate amount of great beer, it did not go unrecognized. We also gave a boost to states who played a historical role in American beer as we know it today.

Towards a Greener Beer: Craft Beer Rolls Out the Evercan
By: Michael Kourabas via Triplepundit.com
As any regular reader of this site knows, sustainability and beer are two things the TriplePundit community takes very seriously. This is, after all, the place that brought you 2012's Green Brewhaha, an exhaustive series on the sustainability movement in the brewing industry. So, it goes without saying that when a craft brewer begins packaging its beer in a can made of almost-entirely recycled aluminum, it is big news here; it should also be big news to the rest of the beverage industry.

Texas Brewer Invents 99-Pack of Beer
By: Amey Stone via CBS
For all those events where a six-pack, or even a 12-pack, isn't enough, a Texas brewery will soon start selling a 99-pack of beer.
Austin Beerworks unveiled its 99-pack this week as part of a social media marketing campaign for its Peacemaker Anytime Ale. A video the company published on YouTube promises "99 beers for $99 bucks. Get 'em while you can. And good luck getting them home. You're going to need to bring a friend."
The case is just over seven feet long.
