World Cup Madness has struck the USA! Despite our disappointing loss to Belgium on Tuesday, our team left the field with the respect of their formidable counterparts. If you had the opportunity to watch the game, it was quite entertaining. The extra time period was as good as it gets with all three goals being scored in the 30 minute period. Shot after shot fired off from both sides....suspense as the US tried to get that ever elusive equalizer goal and potentially send it into the penalty phase. I have heard that the loss has driven some to consider not consuming (or brewing) Belgian beer in protest of the loss.
Why give up the pleasure of such great beer just because our team was bested by a team that clearly out played us? And with Belgian Independence day (July 21st) and the balance of the World Cup games on our calendars...why not support the team and country that beat us in the hopes that they could become the World Cup Champion. Certainly it would put some perspective on the loss if our team lost to was eventual World Cup champions. Don't boycott....enjoy. Or maybe we Americans subscribe to the Ricky Bobby philosophy of "If you're not first...you're last". If that is the credo you live by....the 4th of July will surely pull you out of your soccer sadness. Nothing like the good 'ole Fourth to bolster our national pride. Great American craft beer, grilling, and fireworks will certainly bring back the feeling that we live in the greatest country in the world. Of course, you can do any and all of the above. The next round of the World Cup starts tomorrow so fire up the grill, pop a bottle of your favorite brew, kick back and watch the games first followed by an amazing fireworks display. Life couldn't be grander!

Stone Stochasticity Project Quadrotriticale
Trappist ales as we know them have a proud lineage dating back nearly a century. Rather than follow the footsteps of the monks who forged the quadrupel-the warmest and darkest of monastery offerings-we aimed to test its inherent makeup. In doing so, we added triticale, a hybrid grain combining the pleasant flavor of wheat with the elemental durability and spice of rye, to breathe new life into the malt bill. Because of this, this reimagined brew comes across differently than its classic Belgian predecessors, and beautifully so. Lower in sweetness, but rich with flavors mirroring dried fruit, it's a modern interpretation of one of the most historically sacred styles on Earth. 9.3% ABV

Dogfish Head Rosabi
The vivid rose hue of this imperial Pale Ale comes from a combination of Munich and Caramel malts and a touch of red rice from Louisiana, birthplace of musician and collaborator Julianna Barwick. Citrusy Simcoe and Centennial feed Julianna's love of hops, and the star of the show is her go-to ingredient: wasabi. What's hoppy? ... Wasabi. The Japanese root adds bittering and herbal notes similar to hops, with its subtle heat creeping in after the kick of carbonation. 8% ABV

Rum Runner: Siesta Key Rum
By: Chris Sherman
No industrial park has ever smelled as good to me as this: caramel, honey, cotton candy, butterscotch, even hints of coconut. Ultimately, it's pure vanilla.
It is the scent of Florida rum and the sugar- cane molasses and oak barrels that go into one of the area's first and most successful artisanal spirits, Siesta Key Rum from Drum Circle Dis-
tilling in Sarasota.
The sweet, heady aroma of evaporating spirits
is called the "angel's share'' in Cognac, Barbados, Porto, Jerez and Kentucky, wherever the finest alcohol is made.
