American craft beer is hitting an all-time high and now is the time to celebrate its success with American Craft Beer Week (ACBW) starting on this Monday! If you are reading this, you are already a craft beer drinker. But I am sure you have some friends who are not....who haven't had that Ah - Ha moment where they discover the glorious beers that we love to drink. We have got a ton of events planned for next week. Just to cover a few.....beer festivals, tap takeovers, state focused beer nights, nights of highly hopped beers on tap, beer dinners, even Yoga and Beer. There is literally something for everyone out there and there is an event in your own backyard...really...I'm not kidding...look outside in your backyard. There is a keg being tapped right now! Just kidding!
But as we head into this week of beer drinking, I want you to consider two things. First, make sure you have the ability to get to and from these events in a safe and responsible manner. We all don't want you or anyone you know to get hurt, arrested, or anything of that nature due to attending one of these events. The second thing that I ask is that you attend these events with as many of your friends as possible whether or not they like craft beer or not. These are fun events. There will be great beer and great times to be had by all and maybe just maybe you will introduce someone to something new and exciting in the craft beer world. I hope to see you all out there!

Duvel Tripel Hop is brewed with three hop varieties and each year the third hop is changed to provide its own unique taste and aroma. This keeps the final flavor profile surprisingly exciting for any true beer lover. For 2014 our brewers selected the exotic hop Mosaic from the USA.By using three instead of two hop varieties to brew, we obtain additional hop aromas and an increased bitterness. The typical Duvel palate is enriched with Mosaic hops providing fresh notes of tropical fruit and an intriguing, blueberry flavor. Mosaic hops are added again during 'dry-hopping', extracting additional hop aromas into the beer. The higher aromatic intensity rounds out the beer, backing the final alcohol content of 9.5%.

SaltWater Brewery and Brown Distributing Announce Partnership
By: Brown Distributing Company
SaltWater Brewery of Delray Beach, Florida has officially signed on with Brown Distributing Company for distribution in South Florida.
SaltWater Brewery is a craft brewery started in 2013 by childhood friends Chris Gove, Bo Eaton, Peter Agardy and Dustin Jeffers. Their facility is located right off of I-95 on Atlantic Avenue in an old Delray landmark, a barn built in 1952. They feature an immaculately designed tasting room showcasing reclaimed Dade County Pine salvaged from the original second floor, picnic tables fabricated from the original barn doors and, of course, a saltwater fish tank. Once selling all of the feed and seed for Delray farmers, this historic building has gone "grain-to-grain" having already produced 17 different beers in their first four months of operation.

The World's Most Alcoholic Beers
By: Emily Alford
Did you know that you're currently sipping lager in the midst of an all-out beer war? It's true. Brewers all over the world have been in a no-holds-barred competition to see who can brew the highest alcohol-by-volume (ABV), best tasting beer, creating concoctions for the past four years that contain more alcohol than whiskey while still retaining that earthy yeast flavor that beer lovers crave.
Prior to 2010, the beer world was pretty tame, alcohol-wise. The strongest brews hovered around 20 percent and that was mostly relegated to barley wines, a niche market among beer connoisseurs. All that changed when Struise, a brewing company out of Belgium, began its Black Damnation project in which they used Black Albert, their Russian Imperial Stout, as the base for some increasingly dangerous brews ranging from 13 to 26 percent ABV.

8 Underrated Beer Cities
By: The Huffington Post
Any bona fide beer geek already knows they can find a great brew in Denver,Portland, Oregon, and Dublin. But if you've already tapped the keg on these well-known beer cities, perhaps you and your taste buds are ready to explore a new frontier (with someone else behind the wheel, of course). "You can get beer just about everywhere," said Chris O'Brien, creator of the Beer Activist blog. "People are fermenting grains all over the world." But not every metropolis is a veritable beer city, overflowing with homegrown breweries, gastro pubs and beer festivals. For this reason, U.S. News selected a few spots where you may not have considered tipping back a pint. That said, we know this can be a contentious topic among beer aficionados, so keep in mind that this roundup is presented to you in no particular order.

Beer Battered Jalapeno Poppers
By: Victor's Food Blog
Ingredients For Poppers: 8 oz. Cream Cheese 1/2 Red Onion, diced Salt and Pepper 8-10 Jalapeno Chillies 1/4 cup Flour 1 1/2 cups Vegetable Oil For Beer Batter: 1/2 cup Dark Beer (Hint: Porter Works Best) 2 Large Eggs 1 cup Flour 1 tbsp Melted Butter Directions
In a processor, blend the cream cheese till smooth. Add the onion, blend and add salt and pepper to taste. Set aside.
Slice the jalapeno chillies in half lengthwise and remove the seeds, keeping the stem on if possible.
Fill each chilli half with the cream cheese mix and press the filled sides together as a sandwich.
Put the ¼ cup of flour in a flat dish. Roll each chilli in the flour so the surface is finely coated. Set aside.
To make the batter, separate the eggs. Whisk the yolks in a bowl and add 1 cup of flour. Add the beer and butter, and whisk till smooth. If too liquid, add a bit more flour. If too thick add a bit more beer.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites till stiff, then fold gently into the batter.
Heat the oil in a large saucepan or wok till hot. Add a pinch of batter to the oil first to see if ready for frying. When the oil bubbles quickly around the batter the oil is ready.
Take each chilli, hold by the stem and dip into the batter till coated. Lightly place in the oil and fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side till nicely browned.
Place cooked chillies on paper towels to drain and serve immediately.
Note: Serve with lime sour cream, or sweet chilli jam as an accompaniment.
