Ahhhhhhh.....Labor Day. The yearly transition of Summer into Fall. The vacations are over until the holidays, the kids are back in school and the Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers are lining the shelves. Football is about to kick off into a glorious season of hopes and dreams only to be squashed for us Dolphin fans shortly after playing New England...LOL! Soon the leaves will be changing and the weather will start dipping...wait a second...I live in Florida. Leaves don't change here!?! Oh well, I digress.....at least we can expect the weather to start changing sometime in late October. Just keep telling yourself...only two more months...only two more months.
So what are your plans for this last 3 day weekend before the return of the snowbirds? Is it a beach holiday with the last of the Summer beer being consumed before we break into the fall stocks? Will you be sitting watching the college football season kickoff? Most of us here are headed down to Key West for the Key West Beer fest weekend. If you are headed in that direction, check out the long list of beer events we have this weekend in addition to the fest. Lots of great stuff including a 3.218688k "beer" run, a couple of beer dinners and several tap takeovers...all within walking distance of each other. Gotta love the Keys for Labor Day leisure....just watch out for that traffic on the way back home!

It's here! The latest brew Dedicated to Beards, Beard Beer is brewed with a yeast created from Brewmaster John Maier's Beard. No Need to freak out, Brewers have used wild yeasts in beer making for centuries. John has had the same Old Growth Beard since 1983 and for over 15,000 brews, so it is no great surprise that a natural yeast ideal for brewing was discovered in his beard. 5.6% ABV

The Western Cape might be South Africa's wine capital -- renowned around the world as the home of some of the country's most famous labels -- but not far from Stellenbosch's fertile vineyards there's another drink brewing up a storm.
Inspired by an international boom for local, independent microbreweries, the business of craft beer has also taken off in South Africa recently, as growing numbers of small producers are experimenting with styles and techniques to satisfy a rising thirst for new flavors and novel brews.

The standard 12-ounce beer can is being squeezed off store shelves as beverage makers try to one-up each other not only with what's inside their cans but what the can itself looks like.
Consumers can now choose from cans with temperature-sensitive ink indicating a drinkable chill, wider tops meant to release more flavor and simulate drinking from a glass, or re-closeable lids.
