An Important Notice to All
Holy Spirit Parents & Guardians 

Dear Parents & Guardians,

At approximately 10:15 this morning, a concern over the smell of gas was reported in the building.

As a result, an emergency evacuation was called immediately, and all students, staff, and faculty we're safely evacuated to the football stadium following our protocol.

The Absecon Fire and Police Departments were called and arrived on the scene immediately. South Jersey Gas was also called. All three agencies thoroughly searched the building using an abundance of caution, checking all areas where gas could be present, including but not limited to the science labs, the kitchen, and the boiler and mechanical rooms. At 11:45 AM, all areas of the building were determined to be safe, and students, staff and faculty returned inside.  

In order to accommodate all lunch patterns, the remaining individual classroom periods are being shortened, and all students - including seniors - will be dismissed at our regular 2:05pm dismissal time.

My thanks to our students, faculty, staff and my fellow administrators for a safe and effective evacuation, and well as to the professionals of the Absecon Police and Fire Departments, and South Jersey Gas.
