NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MINORITY & WOMEN OWNED LAW FIRMS NAMES JOEL STERN NEW CEO
LOOKING TO INCREASE ITS CLOUT WITH CORPORATE LEGAL DEPARTMENTS COMMITTED TO DIVERSITY, THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF MINORITY AND WOMEN OWNED LAW FIRMS, INC. (NAMWOLF) HAS NAMED A FORMER LONGTIME IN-HOUSE COUNSEL WITH SENIOR-LEVEL BUSINESS EXPERIENCE AS ITS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER.
Joel Stern, who spent 14 years as deputy general counsel of Accenture and has advised numerous Fortune 500 companies and law firms, becomes CEO of NAMWOLF.
He is the organization's third top executive since its founding in 2001.
NAMWOLF is the country's leading professional association for law firms owned by minorities and women - a community that is growing nationally. NLRB: Employers May Not Require
Confidentiality In All Internal Investigations

Over 675,000 persons are released from prisons in the U.S. each year. According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, as of 2011, nearly one in 50 adults was on probation or parole, or approximately 4,814,200 people. Not surprisingly, it is common practice for employers to conduct background screening of job applicants. Employers do so for a number of legitimate reasons, such as reducing theft, embezzlement and fraud, avoiding risks related to workplace violence, and verifying the accuracy of information on an application and/or resume.
