2013 TriColumbia Race Registration Update
Greetings!
It's October, but time flies and Spring will be here before you know it. Don't miss the Mid-Atlantic's Rite of Spring, the 2013 Columbia Triathlon! Now in its 30th year, our hallmark event beckons athletes to return year after year. Registration is now open!
2012 Columbia Triathlon Champion and new course record holder, Cameron Dye of Colorado offered his praise, "The course is one of the most beautiful, and also one of the most challenging I have ever competed on. The TriColumbia staff and volunteers put on a great race, and I am excited to add this event to my resume." Age Grouper, Mindy Ko of the DC Tri/Snapple Team told us, "This was my 3rd year competing in the Columbia Tri. It's my favorite race...absolutely, 100%, hands-down the best triathlon I have ever done...thank you for another wonderful experience!" The Columbia Triathlon attracts world class pros and amateurs from across the country and across the world. Newly crowned, 2012 Ironman World Champion, Leanda Cave of Great Britain, finished a close second to Australia's Anabel Luxford at last year's event, which presented a pro field of over 30 top notch triathletes. "This race was a lot of fun," said Annabel Luxford. "The course was one of the toughest I have run, but the support throughout was amazing." In addition, the 2012 Columbia Triathlon will once again be a 5150 qualifying event. The top tier finishers in each age group will be invited to race at the 2013 5150 Hy-Vee U.S. Championship in Des Moines, Iowa. Sign up today for this one of a kind, classic race - The Columbia Triathlon! TriColumbia is also pleased to announce that the 2013 EnduraFit Ironman 70.3 EagleMan and the EagleMan USATMA Aquabike Championship is open for registration. This event is the ONLY Ironman 70.3 race in the continental United States that has qualifying slots for 2013 Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Kona - 30 of them!. The event also has 30 slots for the Lake Las Vegas 70.3 World Championship. This event is already more than half full, and will fill soon. Don't delay - sign up today!

Charity In Focus - The Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center TriColumbia is proud to support the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource Center, Howard County's remarkable place of hope, help and support for men, women and children living with cancer, and their families and loved ones. The Center was founded in 1998 in memory of Claudia Mayer, a cancer patient who sadly lost her battle with the disease but whose memory lives on. It is designed to assist individuals and families through counseling, stress and symptom management, care planning, system navigation, education, aesthetic services and resource identification. Services include acupuncture, therapeutic massage and counseling, wig, prosthetic and image services and an extensive resource library.
The Athleta Iron Girl Columbia Half Marathon and Coed 5K was created to benefit this valuable community resource.
"The success of this event means so much to Howard County General Hospital and to our cancer patients," said Victor A. Broccolino, president and CEO of Howard County General Hospital. "The generous donation from TriColumbia will help us provide valuable services to our patients when they need it most."
You can help keep this valuable service center available to our neighbors who are battling cancer by signing up to race in the 2013 Athleta Iron Girl Columbia Half Marathon and Coed 5K.
