The members of the National
Honor Society and National Beta Club recently made over 750 cards for the "Atlanta Night To Shine" event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

This is a prom night for special needs young adults 16 years and older.  These events are being held all over the nation and Georgia's event is being held at First Baptist Church in Woodstock on Feb. 12.  Our students were asked to make cards to go in the gift bags that each attendee will receive.  We were glad to be able to be a part of blessing some very special people.  On the cards, we shared the love of Christ with them and told them how much they are loved.  We were very honored to be allowed to be a part of this wonderful event.

GISA Honor Band
We proud to announce that Colin Mabry made 4th chair alto saxophone in Concert Band, Michael Greiner made 1st chair tuba in Symphonic Band, and Mitchell Greiner made 1st chair percussion in Symphonic Band.  It is an honor to make it into either of these ensembles, but this means that we have the top middle school percussion and tuba players in all of GISA in the state!  Congratulations boys!
This past weekend, February 5th and 6th, three of our middle school band students, Colin Mabry, Michael Greiner, and Mitchell Greiner, participated in GISA's All-Select Honor Band.  The Honor Band is open to all schools in the GISA conference, and had more than 20 different
schools represented.  Students were recommended by their band directors and chosen based on their directors recommendation.  From there each student took part in
chair placements to find out which of the two bands they would be apart of.  The bands were chosen based on skill level and labeled as the Symphonic Band (top band) and Concert Band (lower band).  After chair placements were decided, students in both groups rehearsed for two hours on Friday and another 6 hours on Saturday to play a concert Saturday afternoon.

Congratulations to Indoor Track on a very successful season.  Indoor Track competes against some of the best athletes not only in the state but in the nation as well.  The "Knightrunners" had 10 Top 50 finishes in the state of Georgia this season.  Among the most notable were:   Cody Lagivne #27 in the long jump, Grace Schumacher #11 in both the triple jump and the 55 meter Dash, and Dorien Jenkins #3 in the 55 meter dash, and #13 in the long jump.  Dorien also set school records in the 60 meters and 55 meters which were once held by Brandt Kirita and Donavan Ellison respectively.

Renee Dockins finished #8 in the 60 meter hurdles, and #23 in the 60 meters, and Chloe Conlon finished #24 in the 60 meters for middle school competition.

Support the DCS Rewards Programs
Parents, we have added another simple way for Dominion to earn money through a new rewards program. The Amazon Smile program will donate 0.5% on eligible purchases to Dominion Christian Schools for those who participate in the program.

To get started, you must shop through their Amazon Smiles site: http://smile.amazon.com instead of the traditional Amazon site. Once on this site, search for "Dominion Christian Schools, Inc" Marietta, GA and choose our school as the beneficiary. You will then shop as usual (all products/prices are the same as the regular amazon site). If everyone participates, the 0.5% will add up to a respectable donation for Dominion.

Last year you all helped our school raised approximately $1000 from box tops, coke rewards, and labels for education. Thank you so much for your continued participation in all of these programs!
