DCS Open House

Open House is a great way for prospective families and students to get an inside look at Dominion's academic offerings and extra-curricular opportunities in a uniquely Christian environment.

Holiday House is on Thursday,
November 19, 6:00 - 8:30 PM.

Volunteers & Donations needed

Dominion's Holiday House is right around the corner! Each year the Fine Arts Department kicks off the season with this annual event. It is a great time for our families and the community to come together for fun activities, fellowship, great food, entertainment, and a silent auction (a great start for Holiday shopping).

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with breakdown and clean up after the event. We also need help gathering donation items for the silent auction to benefit DARTS, Dominion Fine Arts. (a few examples - event tickets, gift cards, one or two-night vacations, home dcor, services, trips, gift baskets)

Donations will be accepted through the Front Office. When dropping off, please fill out a form so that your tax-deductible donation letter can be issued at a later date. (Please do not drop donations off at cabin).

For more information, donations or volunteers, please contact Suzanne Huff
Grandparents' Day Luncheon
Friday, November 20

 Middle School at 11:00 am
High School at 12:15 pm

Grandparents are the "fourth leg" of the family table, there to keep it from wobbling too much. It's the grandparents that know that 18 months become 18 years in an eye-blink.

Grandparents Day recognizes the importance of heritage, faith,  community, and relationships across generations. Come out and visit Dominion Christian Schools November 20 and find out what students are learning, and celebrate with us.

Join us for worship...
Chapel is a core component of our weekly schedule at Dominion. It is a time for corporate worship, prayer, and spiritual growth.

Parents, as your schedule permits, please join us on Wednesdays for chapel. Here are some upcoming chapels:
  • Friday, November 6: Julian Hawkins
Julian graduated from DCS in 2009. Julian will be sharing in chapel on our annual Shadow Day.

  • Wednesday, November 11: Bo Wisdom (Veteran, USMC)
Injured in the Iraq War, Purple Heart recipient, Bo Wisdom, shares his story and love for Christ at our Veterans Day assembly.

  • Wednesday, November 18: Elam Ecuadorian Band
Elam, from Ecuador, is touring in the US. Band members are friends of our DoMissions team that went to Ecuador last summer. They have a wonderful testimony for the Lord.

The food drive was a HUGE success!  Thank you all so much for those who were generous with your resources.

The report from Hayes middle school was as follows;
"Would you please mention how EXTREMELY grateful the staff at Hayes Elementary was and they didn't even have enough room on their shelves to store it. They were shocked to see Lori's whole car filled with food."

Thank you again for helping out those in need.

Support the DCS Rewards Programs
Parents, we have added another simple way for Dominion to earn money through a new rewards program. The Amazon Smile program will donate 0.5% on eligible purchases to Dominion Christian Schools for those who participate in the program.

To get started, you must shop through their Amazon Smiles site: http://smile.amazon.com instead of the traditional Amazon site. Once on this site, search for "Dominion Christian Schools, Inc" Marietta, GA and choose our school as the beneficiary. You will then shop as usual (all products/prices are the same as the regular amazon site). If everyone participates, the 0.5% will add up to a respectable donation for Dominion.

Last year you all helped our school raised approximately $1000 from box tops, coke rewards, and labels for education. Thank you so much for your continued participation in all of these programs!
