Princeton Club of Georgia Annual Woodrow Wilson Community Service Award
DCS junior, AJ Wilson, has been selected as a Finalist for the Princeton Club of Georgia's annual Woodrow Wilson Community Service Award.
From the letter of congratulations:
I am writing to congratulate you on being selected as a Finalist for the Princeton Club of Georgia's annual Woodrow Wilson Community Service Award. Charlie Hurt, Co-Chair of the WWCSA, and I were blown away and humbled by the commitment and character expressed by you and the other Finalists representing the metro area. We had an overwhelming response this year from a very strong pool of applicants, so you should be especially proud of your accomplishments. We will be hosting an award ceremony at the State Capitol Building - most likely in early fall. The award ceremony will be for you, your parents/guardians and a representative from your school. We will send you additional information once we firm up the event details with the Governor's Office. Thank you again for applying - and thanks to Ms. Peeples for nominating you for this Award. We look forward to meeting you soon. Best regards, Justin Im & Charlie Hurt Princeton Club of Georgia

Knights Sprint Their Way to 3rd Place at State!
After a strong performance at the region championships, The Dominion Christian "Running Knights" sent 15 competitors to compete in 29 events. The girl's team, comprised of mainly 8th to 10th graders and one junior, managed to send three athletes to the podium. 8th grader Grace Schumacher finished 7th overall in the long jump, while Cydnee Luther finished 3rd in shot put earning a bronze medal, and 7th in the discus.
After scoring no points in the first two days, the Dominion Christian Boy's Team unleashed their sprinting dominance that has been prevalent throughout the track season. The opening sprinting event, the 4x 100 meter relay, for told what was to come when anchor Doanavan Ellison received the baton in sixth place surpassing all but one, giving the "Running Knights" a second place finish! The "Running Knights" were only getting started as they proceeded to place 3rd in the 110 hurdles, 1st and 5th in the 100 meters, second in the 400 meters, 1st in the 300 hurdles, and 1st in the 200 meters catapulting the Knights from last place to a 3rd place overall finish.
Team captains Donavan Ellison and AJ Wilson brought home the gold, as Donavan was crowned state champion in the 100 meters, and 200 meters, and AJ in the 300 hurdles. Donavan was also State Runner Up in the 400 meter Dash, and AJ received a bronze medal in the 110 hurdles.
