 | DCS Dads & Kids Pizza Night  |
 | 2nd ANNUAL DOMINION DADS & KIDS PIZZA NIGHT
Students, Fathers & Father-Figures High School & Middle School  Tuesday Evening, September 3 6:30 PM in the DCS Dining Hall   Join us as Dominion Christian Schools kicks off its second year of WatchDOGS (Dads of Great Students).     WATCH D.O.G.S.® is the fathering initiative of the National Center for Fathering (www.fathers.com/watchdogs ). The program began in a single school in 1998 and has since grown to a national program with WATCH D.O.G.S. ® schools in almost every state in the nation.    Each school year men volunteer to work at least one day in their child's school through the WATCH D.O.G.S. ® program. These men work along side the educators to help as car line facilitators, hallway monitors, classroom assistants, lunchroom helpers, homework tutors and gymnasium coaches. The possibilities are endless. Every school year these men have a positive impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of kids.

For more information, please email watchdogs@dominionmail.org.

 | Parent Volunteers & Helpers...The Dominion all-school retreat on Oct 2-4 is approaching quickly.  As parents, we have the awesome opportunity to server our students during the retreat!  I can honestly say that it has been the most fun thing I have done at Dominion for the last 6 years!  We have 10 spots left for volunteers - moms and dads are welcome!  We serve food, help the Sharptop kitchen staff, and staff the Snack Bar!  We sleep in a "parent cabin" - not with the kids - and it is a great way to get to know other parents.

As volunteers, we would need you to commit from Wednesday, Oct 2 at 2pm (you will drive yourself or carpool if you wish needing to be at Sharptop by 2) until Friday at noon.  Unfortunately, we can't usually accommodate volunteers that can't commit to the entire time.

This will be staffed by the first people that reply back to Pat Hendricks (phendricks@dominionmail.org)!  Background checks are necessary and we will send you a form that allows us to complete one.

Looking forward to working with many of you at Sharptop!

If you are a LLC, S Corp, or PC and would like to know how you can redirect some of your Georgia State Tax Liability - please contact me!  Joe Bradley, jbradley@dominionmail.org   As you may or may not know, HB 283 increased the maximum donation amount for LLCs, S Corps and PCs. The new maximum is up to $10,000 of the amount contributed, as long you have paid GA income tax in that amount on that share of taxable income from the S Corp, LLC or PC.   The Dept. of Revenue is currently pre-approving the new amounts.  If they have already applied and donated, they can re-apply for the additional amount.   This can be such a blessing for our students. |
