   Happy Birthday Kids Talk!

Wow!  This month we celebrate the tenth anniversary of Kids Talk.

Ever since my dad worked for the Daily Oklahoman when I was two years old, I knew I wanted to write a newspaper column. Kids Talk is my dream come true.

Column by column, blog post by blog post, the Kids Talk library now approaches 500 articles.  I've been guided and blessed by your readership and your questions and comments over these past ten years.

Kids Talk has grown in other ways as I've expanded my workshops to an on-line format.

About this time last year, I started experimenting with doing workshops on-line and was encouraged by the participation of so many of my Kids Talk readers.  As I organized and conducted these workshops I learned from you.  Thank you!

After trying various methods, I think I've worked out way to deliver my Kids Talk workshops that works for the most people in terms of accessibility.

Kids Talk Online Workshops are delivered at your convenience, when and where you have time.

  • My workshops are mostly on-demand which means you can register and have immediate access to the workshop.
  • The workshops are designed to be used on a computer, of course, but can also be used on tablets or smart phones.  Wherever you go, the course is with you!
  • If you wish you can connect with others that are in the course using the "People" area in each workshop. This is wonderful for professional workshops as a school's entire staff can interact within the course.
  • You can ask me a question via e-mail and I will answer you back, usually within 24 hours.

Complimentary Workshops

For parents and educators, I'm also offering a complimentary monthly live question and answer session about child development issues.  I'm calling these sessions, See It In Your Child.  Sign up here.

The recordings and handouts to previous sessions are available to you as soon as you sign up.

New Montessori Parenting Workshop

Some of you have noted my absence from my on-line workshops since May.  I've been busy!

My new Montessori parenting program, Seeing Your Child The Montessori Way, is ready. We've been testing with schools and families and have received enthusiastic feedback.

This course rolls out over six-weeks in 50 minute sessions.  Each session is divided into activity segments, ranging in length from 2 to 12 minutes. Each session features video with me. I am the guide for the course.

Needless to say, I'd love for you to take the course with me.

A session for individual families begins January 14.   Click here for more information.

The course is also available for schools to create a private and personalized yearly subscription for groups of 20 participants or more.  I am partnering with Ronda Kay at Montessori Family Connection to coordinate school subscriptions. Schools can begin a subscription at anytime. For more information,  click here.

Thank you for ten wonderful years of Kids Talk.

I look forward to expanding my work of connecting adults to children in powerful ways with my newsletters and workshops.
