While the Falcon college football team was training hard for the Oct. 4 Homecoming game, so was the new UW-River Falls live mascot. Only Freddy wasn't doing push-ups or sit-ups. More than $591,000 from two funding sources has the Mathematics Department busy with two special projects involving workshops and seminars aimed at Common Core math content and practice standards in grades 3 through high school. Erick Hofacker, associate professor of mathematics, is involved with both projects as co-director. Read more.
