February 27th, 2013

Spring is just around the corner, the days are getting longer, and the sun is shining brighter. Spring is in the air!  New things are on the horizon here at FCCA as our spring season is beginning.

The month of February seemed shorter than 28 days with so many exciting events and activities here at FCCA.  Our hats are off to:

  • PTF for sponsoring our first Family Valentine's Social
  • the faculty, staff, students and parents for an excellent performance at our Evening of Entertainment Show.  Thank you Mrs. Kerner and Ms. Matheny for directing the show!

  • ACSI Spelling Bee participants and to Liesl Van Bindsbergen for winning the third place award for the 3rd grade ACSI district
  • Teachers and Students for an outstanding Multi-cultural chapel.  It was educational, informative and entertaining!  We took a trip around the world in 60 minutes!

Looking ahead... please see the list of time-sensitive items that require immediate attention below.

1.  Re-enrollment discount ends Friday!  Receive $100.00 off your registration fee!  We want to plan early for next year and offer contracts to our teachers before June. As you know, we are not a government sponsored school.  We are a tuition supported school and it is vital that we know how many students to plan for.  If you want to take advantage of the $100.00 savings and need a few more weeks to complete your re-enrollment payment, call the office today and leave your message at ext. 122.

2.  Lunch payments- In the past, we've allowed lunch payments to be added to your tuition account.  We are no longer able to do that due to the fact that we are running at a deficit in our "hot" lunch budget.  Please ensure that your child has a lunch card on file with their teacher, or has their lunch packed in the morning.  If you forget, please call the office in the morning and make arrangements to pay by the end of the school day, or no later than the end of the current week.  Thank you for your support and partnership.

3.  We are gearing up for our State of the School address on March 21st.  Childcare will be provided, and dinner will be served.  We must have your RSVP by March 5th, in order to know how many people to prepare dinner for.  Please call the office at 227-3222 ext. 122 and let us know how many people in your family will attend.  Come and hear about the vision and goals of FCCA!

My office is always open for you.  Please feel free to stop in anytime and share your concerns, share positive feedback or to just chat!

As always, it is an honor to serve YOU!

Character Trait:
Be a good citizen - A native or naturalized person
owes allegiance to a government and is entitled to protection from it.

Obey your leaders and submit to their authority.  They keep watch over you as men who must give an account.  Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Core Value:
Faithful: firm in adherence to promises or in observance of duty : conscientious : given with strong assurance : binding <a faithful promise>

Trust in the Lord and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him. (Psalm 37:3-5, 7a)

FCCA proudly features....

Sherry Ogden has been married to Bernie Ogden for 38 years.  They have three children: Michelle, Melissa, and Michael, who are all in the education field, and three grandchildren: Emily (age 8), Abigail (age "almost 6"), and Joshua (age 2).  Mrs. Ogden has been working at FCCA for 24 years, and has previously taught in Madera and Pasadena.  She has taught grades 3-6 and Kindergarten.  Mrs. Ogden believes that all students have the ability to achieve their highest potential.  She developed the Mr. Wiggly Reading program so that students would catch the joy of reading.  Mrs. Ogden believes that students respond and will work harder with encouragement and positive reinforcement.  She also believes that students need to be responsible and learn that there are consequences to their actions.  Working at FCCA has always been a ministry to her, and not a job.  She loves to teach students about Jesus - which is not an opportunity she would have in public schools.  Mrs. Ogden enjoys going to sporting events and musicals with her husband, and spending time with her grandkids.
