POSITIONAL RELEASE
Starts Monday, August 10th

Aug 10- Sep 21 (Mon) 9am-1:30pm, no class Sep 7
 Clinic: Sep 21 (Mon) 1:45-4:45pm

This 30 hour course will introduce students to basic principles of positional release and its techniques in indirect work. Indirect techniques employ the application of force away from a resistance barrier, i.e. into the direction of greatest ease. By placing pressure on the bones into the direction of greatest ease, tissues spontaneously relax and allowed for a normalization of structural alignment and function

Students will learn Arthur Lincoln Pauls, D.O. work:

The Technique and Philosophy of Positional Release. This modality introduces the use of a facilitating force (compression, torsion, etc.) to enhance the effect of the positioning. Pauls' work became Ortho-Bionomy™, a system of positional releases for the whole body, taught to non-osteopaths. This modality can be combined with most any medium of bodywork.

"Positional Release is one of my favorite modalities! I find it so amazingly powerful with such gentle, nonforce, painless techniques. I would say it's a combination of specific holds and monitoring the energy for a subtle release; both hands on and energy work in synergy. Often the work begins when the client gets off the table. The work is also not physically hard on the practitioner. Although I also know Swedish, Craniosacral, Trigger point, Lymphatic drainage, BARS, Tui Na, and Polarity Therapy, I find myself drawn to this technique repeatedly. It has helped me recover from my low and mid spine injuries, and put me back on the map. It also is highly effective for repetitive motion injuries. I have had amazing results offering this modality to my clients, and 90% of them have significant to total pain relief in one session! I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to experience and administer results quickly and painlessly. "
