 Greetings!

We have a lovely Biodynamic Craniosacral session Tuesday afternoon, August 4th at 2:00 p.m. or 3:30 p.m- clinic special, $25.

Preparing yourself to receive a a cranial session is a very different  experience from receiving a massage. It is a meditative journey, with the practitioner providing the fulcrum for your cerebrospinal fluid to reorganize itself  to  heal imbalances held within your central core.

One of the best descriptions of what can happen in a cranial sacral session is described by Franz Kafka in a short poem:

You don't even need to leave your room

Just sit at your table and wait.

Don't even wait.

Just listen.

Be still,be silent, be solitary.

The world will fully offer itself to you

To be unmasked.

It has no choice.

It will roll in ecstasy at your feet

From a more scientific perspective, cranial sacral therapy is a branch of osteopathic medicine that contacts the cranial field, that is the brain and spinal column, with a dime's weight of pressure to realign the bones in the fluid medium in which they float and move. The theory is that  if the bones are impeded in their movement, the entire central and autonomic nervous systems are thrown out of balance causing a myriad of symptoms.

Conditions and symptoms which have been very successfully treated by cranial sacral therapy are migraines, chronic pain, autism, stress, TMJ pain, Post traumatic stress disorder and pregnancy complaints to name a few.

This modality is extremely non invasive and safe. The practitioner contacts the inner physican of the client with her own inner physician and determines an inherent treatment plan for the session. This contact is accomplished by the means of deep stillness and active listening with the mind and soul through the intelligence of the hands and fingers of the therapist.

The client may experience nothing, deep relaxation, a gentle unwinding, a more active unwinding ( neck and limbs moving involuntarily), visions, releases.

As a participant in a cranial clinic, the client enjoys the benefits of the synergy of many therapists and clients dropping into this deep stillness that can be deeply transformational.
