What does a warm, soft belly have to do with abundant energy?
- Tension in the belly can impede the flow of lymph and lower immune function. The belly is where the deep lymph nodes reside around the intestines. The lymph system circulates the killer cells that neutralize foreign particles.
- Tension in the belly can impede taking that full deep breath. The muscles in the belly are designed to gently move in and out with each diaphragmatic breath.
- Tension in the belly can prevent the release
of essential feel good neurotransmitters like serotonin. The small intestine stores the majority of serotonin in the body rather than the brain. - Tension in the belly can impede the assimilation of nutrients in the small intestine and elimination of waste in the large intestine.
- Tension in the belly can bottle up lots of undigested feelings. When we let our body shake and vibrate in response to our emotions, we allow e-motion or energy to be in motion- to move through us, and radiate through all our channels and vital centers.

How can lymphatic drainage enhance immune response? A key component of our immune response is the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is a network of channels and nodes that filter the fluids in the body from foreign pathogens- bacteria, virsuses, fungi, yeasts, pesticides, chemicals, and heavy metals. When these elements collect in our bodies, (which is common, in that they are abundant in our environments and what we take into our body) they need extra hellp in being removed. An abundance of foreign pathogens in our body can depress our immune function, zap our energy, tweak our emotions and muddy our thoughts. Neutralizing and eliminating foreign pathogens is the job of a healthy, vital, lymphatic system supported by open channels of elimination., (lungs, large intestine, urinary system and skin) and the intake of ample water and vital nutrients. Lymphatic and abdominal massage are great ways to help the body remove wastes and improve function. |
