Our newly revised 250/550/1000hr programs are HOT! We are Rocking and rolling! I am thrilled to say that we have a line up of brilliant instructors; teaching illuminating, skill building curriculum; that are being filled with sharp, curious and motivated students.
Our revised curriculum retains all the flexibility of our modular program design and efficient commuter scheduling. Our revised curriculum also retains a large diversity of bodywork options both- energetic and structural. Graduates of our programs learn strong technical skills in several modalities including Swedish, Reflexology, Deep Tissue and a half dozen more modules of choice.
In addition, our revised curriculum offers an expanded and progressive series of courses in anatomy, physiology, pathology and kinesiology required for successful passage of the National MBLEx Exam. Our presentation of the sciences is anything but dry. Last Tuesday's presentation of cells and tissues in our Swedish Massage course, included a before and after massage, viewing of a student's blood under the microscope, demonstrating marked changes in the Red and White Blood cells including more vibrant cell membranes, more mobile cells and less clumping.
We have also revised the content of our bodywork courses and clinic practicum to include: assessment, documentation, therapeutic application and treatment plan analysis, with special emphasis on kinesiology skills including range of motion tests, postural and gait analysis, as well as appearance of tissues, palpation and functional assessment. These shifts are being incorporated into all of our courses including Swedish Massage and Medical Qigong.
We are delighted to report that our previous 25 years of skill building for successful private practice, without emphasis of teaching to a National Exam has produced many great practices as well as a pool of sixteen 250/550 hour grads completing in 2014 and prior years who have taken the MBLEx or NCBTMB. Amongst this pool, our pass rate to date is 100%. We extend a big congratulations to the success of our grads who sat for the National Board exams!
We are also very excited to welcome Sean Riehl, back into the classroom as Instructor. Sean is a 1990 grad, instructor extraordinaire who has gone on to create over 30 Bodywork training DVD's and Manuals that are utilized in schools all over the country, he is returning to the classroom to offer the assessment and treatment skills he most enjoys utilizing with his regular clients: Myofascial Release and Orthopedic Massage. Welcome back Sean!
