Honoring Randy Fritz Student of the Month

Randy Fritz is an exceptional student here at SBBTI. He has received multiple compliments from our clients and was the most requested student in our clinic last month. He has earned our gold star, student of the month award for his demonstration of excellence.
Statement by happy customer, Donna Matthes,
"He was Intuitive and fabulous. He knew where to put the pressure and where not to. Felt like he's been doing massage for longer than he has."
I recently interviewed Randy to find out more about what was behind his very zen-like personality and calm peaceful, presence. After hearing about the activities that Randy participates in it all became very clear.
Randy currently works as a supervisor for the City Parks and Rec., a certified Arborist and ambassador for the trees so to speak, he brings the earth and elements of nature into his being. He also enjoys his work as a bee keeper and his hobbies include learning bee sting therapy and nature tracking in his spare time. His deep understanding of the patterns in nature, and observing the harmonious interactions of the bees offers a sense of calm that now translates through to his clients.
As he explained, "I am a tracker which involves tracing the patterns of animals and cycles in nature. By studying the intricate details of the anatomy and physiology of the natural world you begin to understand the tracks of the animals and see their history and why they chose to move and interact in certain ways. The animals and trees have their patterns and once you can connect with them you start to see yourself and experience that there is no separation between man and nature....
Spending time with the trees and observing the details, merging with nature, brings you to the awareness of your connection with it in each passing moment. This is now translating into my massage. I am now tracking the human body, listening to its needs, exploring its history and patterns, all the while with the realization that there is no separation. The ability to practice awareness of each moment offers the practitioner the chance to listen to the clients needs. Intuition is this listening."
Randy commented that he had practiced massage in the past on loved ones but didn't begin this adventure until after a vision quest.
"After my vision quest I had a clear understanding that this was something I needed to do. I just knew that I wanted to get a license to work with people in a healing mode. I would like to help people get in better touch with themselves. Before the massage work, I had experienced holding patterns in areas of my life. Now I can feel those patterns shifting...
My education in the classroom and working with clients in the clinics has helped me to develop confidence; which continues to grow with each new experience. I realize that I had a holding pattern in my life around it and mainly in the area of being able to receive."
The compliments are now pouring in and Randy explained to me the importance for him to be able to receive them.
"To be able to accept that you are offering your gifts, and that it's ok to accept thanks for it, is a gift in itself. We often hear that giving is receiving. The statement is also true in reverse, receiving is also giving. To be open to receive allows another to give, which is also giving back to that person."
Randy also commented on the importance of receiving massage as a learning tool. He feels that much of the process of learning bodywork is the ability to fully receive the massage openly and with presence.
"The body downloads the information and gives you new directions to explore."
On the path to more success, Randy finds joy in experiencing the process of development that is unfolding for him. He continues to build his practice openly and enjoy each part of the journey. Inspired by results that bee sting therapy can have on pathological conditions, he is looking to incorporate this 6,000 year old art into the future of his healing work. For now he is ready for certification, building clientele, and more practice.
